Public opinion polls have consistently demonstrated that the people of the United States desire a United Nations more capable of assuring world peace. While the U.N. has an impressive record in social and humanitarian areas, it lacks the funding, structures and authority to assure peace.

This page briefly summarizes the Campaign's program for a more effective U.N., to assure peace, and to conserve and protect the global environment. The Campaign for U.N. Reform considers these fourteen measures to be the minimal ones necessary to assure the health and safety of our planet. They are of a piece, each related to the others. Some are easier to realize than others. Some, like the voting proposals, may take years to implement. However, advocating anything less is to short-change our children and future generations.
